Activities concentrated in carrying out of the Southeast European Cooperation Initiative (SECI), enhancing regional cooperation, and thus stability among the Balkans countries; encouraging cooperative and transboundary solutions to shared economic and environmental problems; addressing developmental aspects of the region by improving informational exchange, planing multistate programmes and attracting private capital to complement bilateral and multilateral sources of funding.

  • Ministry of Economy , Senior Expert in Industrial and Investment Policies, European Integration Department, January 1999 to date.
    Under the supervision of the Deputy Minister, Mr Iltchev has performed the following job functions:
    analyses, evaluates and prepares reports, documents and other written materials on the Ministry's positions and policies toward the participation in the activities of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), World Trade Organisation (WTO), UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) and other multilateral and regional economic organisations, and prepares periodic reports on the status of the national industrial policy; analyses, evaluates and prepares reports, documents and other written materials on the ministerial positions and policies concerning the Implementation of the European Agreement of Association and other Free Trade Agreements, especially in the field of free movement of goods, harmonisation of technical legislation etc.; participates in multilateral and bilateral trade and economic negotiations as well as in the activities of Ad hoc Working groups within the framework of WTO, OECD, IMF, UNCTAD, CEFTA etc.;
    represents the Ministry in intergovernmental and other external meetings and prepares reports thereon;
    participates in the co-ordination of periodic meetings of the Interdepartmental Commissions on Safeguard measures on imports and Antidumping actions against unfair trade practices.
